MIDI piano practice app
A MIDI piano practice app for reviewing every take
TempoPro compares a performance from your digital piano or MIDI keyboard with an imported digital score, then places assessment and practical guidance at the relevant locations.
The practice problem
Practice sessions are hard to judge from memory alone
A passage may feel steady while you are playing, but wrong notes, rhythm, articulation, dynamics, coordination, pedal, and continuity are difficult to judge accurately in the moment.
TempoPro workflow
Record MIDI events and review them immediately
With a supported MusicXML or MXL score and a compatible MIDI device, TempoPro can assess pitch, rhythm, articulation, dynamics, coordination, pedal use, and continuity, then connect the result to the next practice task.
How it works
A practice loop built around review
- 01
Import a MusicXML or MXL score.
- 02
Choose a measure, phrase, or the complete piece.
- 03
Play on a connected digital piano or MIDI keyboard.
- 04
Review the score, annotations, and suggested next action.
Practice in the score’s context
TempoPro keeps the performance task attached to the score. Practice a selected range on a compatible MIDI instrument and review the evidence without leaving the piece workflow.
Review MIDI-observable details
Score-aware feedback can surface wrong notes, rhythm, articulation, dynamics, coordination, pedal, and continuity issues at the relevant musical location.
Use supported digital scores or free practice
Import .musicxml, MusicXML-based .xml, or .mxl scores for analysis and Smart Practice. For rhythm work without a score, start a Free Practice session.
FAQ
Common questions
Does TempoPro record audio?

Where is MIDI practice data stored?
Practice data is stored locally on the device. With membership-enabled iCloud sync, records can sync across the user's Apple devices.
Can TempoPro work with any piece?
Score analysis and Smart Practice currently require a supported MusicXML or MXL score. Free Practice can be used without importing a score.
