What Smart Practice needs
The practice path begins with a supported digital score. MIDI and TempoPro Pro have separate roles in planning and performance review.
Supported score formats
Smart Practice starts from .musicxml, a MusicXML-based .xml file, or .mxl. PDF files, score images, and MIDI files used as scores are not currently supported.
The path comes from the score
Phrases, voices, and structure inform the suggested sequence. You can also select any measure, phrase, or complete piece yourself.
MIDI is required for automatic performance review
Any feature that detects or scores your playing requires a compatible MIDI device and enough performance data. Score import and analysis do not require MIDI.
TempoPro Pro access
Smart Practice paths require TempoPro Pro. Full difficulty detail, detailed annotations, and some advanced features also require Pro.
